Nigel Goodman

Managing Director

Nigel is the founder and Managing Director of Cavendish Brooke Ltd and has nearly 30 years experience within financial services. As well as running the business he is an active financial consultant, specialising in Corporate and High Net Worth Private Clients.

Nigel trained in accountancy following which he went into the City where he spent several years in commodities and bullion, with companies such as Johnson Matthey before starting his career as a financial consultant. Nigel believes in the core principles of integrity, honesty and client care, and his hands-on approach ensures that these principles are upheld throughout the company.

Chris White

Managing Director, Cavendish Brooke Estate Planning

Chris spent much of his working life in retailing, working with major organisations such as C&A, BHS and Topshop and most recently as Merchandising Director of the Millets chain of camping and outdoor stores. When Millets was acquired in 1999 by Blacks Leisure, Chris had the opportunity to change his career direction and decided to re-train as a professional Will Writer.

Initially, he worked with Just Wills and then in 2005 set up his own Will-writing company, Charter Wills.

Chris had worked with the team at Cavendish Brooke, providing a Will writing service to their clients, for over 10 years and was delighted when the opportunity came along to join them to run the Will Writing and Estate Planning side of the business. He sees this as an exciting addition to the range of services already provided by the company.

He is also a member of a small and unique group of professional Will writers known as the TAS Network, whose aim is to provide a forum for the sharing of knowledge and training to its members nationally.

Kevin Spink

Operations Director

Kevin's career started at NatWest Bank following which he spent seven years travelling the world as the head of customer services for an international shipping company before joining the financial services industry. His financial services career spans over 20 years and includes names such as Legal and General, Zurich and Allied Dunbar.

Kevin joined Cavendish Brooke to support Nigel Goodman, Managing Director, to further expand and develop the client proposition and brand.

With Kevin's passion, values and attention to detail, he is committed to ensuring the company remains at the forefront of financial services whilst retaining its traditional values and core principles.

Roy Brooks

Business Quality Manager

Roy's career began as a compositor for a printing firm working on publications such as The Midwife and The Honourable Artillery Company magazine. With 'hot metal printing' on the decline, he took voluntary redundancy in 1975 and joined the CIS to commence a new career as a financial adviser.

After 10 successful years he sold his franchise and moved into management for a further 3 years with the CIS before moving to Canada Life where he spent 9 years as a manager. In 1999 Roy was approached by Abbey Life to manage a team of advisers and moved to Allied Dunbar when they acquired Abbey Life in 2000. He has undergone the transition through Allied Dunbar to the Zurich Advice Network to Openwork where he now works as a Business Quality Manager for London and the South East.

Roy's strong ethical outlook and his commitment to good practice and compliant procedure, combined with his sunny disposition and "nothing is too much trouble" attitude have made him a very successful member of the team.

Mark Curry

Finanical Planning Consultant

A keen sportsman, Mark played at Maidstone Rugby Club for many years and now lists golf, sailing and badminton as his favourite pastimes.

Mark began his financial services career in 1989 with General Portfolio and after a couple of years working with the expat community in Indonesia, returned to the UK in 1984 and joined Allied Dunbar as a Financial Adviser. In 1996 he joined Financial Milestones before taking a career break in 2005 to crew on a yacht participating in a round-the-world race which took 11 months. Upon his return he rejoined Financial Milestones where he took on the role of Practice Manager.

Financial Milestones was acquired by Cavendish Brooke in 2010 and Mark is now a valued and lively member of the new team. He takes care of compliance as well as continuing to provide financial advice to his clients, specialising in arranging company pension schemes.

Simon Jamieson

Financial Planning Consultant

Simon first joined the financial services industry in 1986 after originally qualifying as an aircraft design engineer. After becoming a senior sales consultant and manager Simon moved on to a training role for several years before joining Allied Dunbar as a senior manager in a London office. In the late 1990's be set up his own practice with what was then the Zurich Advice Network but decided on a lifestyle change for his family in 2005 when he moved to live abroad, in South Africa.

Having worked with Nigel Goodman for over 15 years, Simon decided to join Cavendish Brooke in 2006 to facilitate the continuance of providing long term service to his existing clientele through an organisation who shared a common focus on customer outcomes.

With over 20 years of experience in sales and technical expertise Simon adds a depth of knowledge to the practice which is called upon by staff as well as his appreciative clients.

David Martin

Financial Planning Consultant

David's career in the City started in 1961 with Martins Bank and Bank of Montreal where he spent 9 years working in and running a number of departments, primarily ledgers, clearing and dividends. In 1970 he joined the Kirkland and Whittaker Group broking foreign exchange and currency deposits and was made a Director in 1979.

In 1990 he became a financial adviser with Lincoln Assurance, achieving both Branch Manager and Top Producer status before leaving to take up the role of Specialist Financial Services Adviser with the Prudential. Years with Allied Dunbar and Zurich Financial Services followed and David became a valued member of the Cavendish Brooke team in 2004.

Cindy Griffith

Financial Planning Consultant

After moving to the UK from Zimbabwe, Cindy qualified as a financial consultant in 1989. Her focus is on providing holistic financial advice to private and corporate clients, particularly within the legal and financial sectors.

Cindy firmly believes in the value of relationships and will always do her utmost to ensure that her clients receive the best possible care and attention. She is strongly committed to the ethics and principles of good practice in business and was a board director of the Association of International Property Professionals from 2006 to 2010, holding the position of Treasurer in her final year.

Cindy was also responsible for forming Cavendish Brooke International Ltd which provides international property search services within the Cavendish Brooke Group. Peter Dowling

Financial Consultant - Mortgage Specialist

Peter's career began in Hatton Garden as a qualified Manufacturing Goldsmith where he enjoyed 10 successful years creating unique and valuable pieces for a client list which included foreign dignitaries, Aspreys and Royalty. Deciding he would like a career change, Peter qualified as a financial consultant in 1988 providing tailored advice in all areas of personal financial planning.

He joined Cavendish Brooke in 2006 to head up the expansion and development of the mortgage proposition with the duty of care and level of due diligence as is key within the Cavendish Brooke ethic. Peter has applied his creative approach and strong principles to ensuring grounded and down to earth family protection and mortgage advice within his department.

Tom Gold

Practice Adminstrator

Tom joined Cavendish Brooke in November 2010. He has been involved in the financial services industry since 1987, working within the relevant divisions of prestigious Chartered Accountancy practices in the City and West End of London.

His canny Scottish understanding of financial planning is appreciated by those who come into contact with him and his administrative support to our advisers will prove an asset to the firm.

Claire Stockton

Financial Planning Administrator

Claire joined Woolwich Direct in 1997 as a mortgage completions administrator. Over the following years she held positions in the mortgage departments with Barclays, The London Mortgage Company and SPPL (Lehman Brothers) before joining Cavendish Brooke in 2009.

Claire is responsible for processing new business as well as client servicing and liaison. She has quickly established herself as a committed and dedicated member of the team, popular with our clients, staff and advisers alike.

Kelly Jones

Financial Planning Administrator

After completing her higher education and deciding that she would like to work in financial services with a
City-based firm, Kelly joined Cavendish Brooke in June 2011 as a member of our administration team. Her core responsibilities are the processing of new business as well as client servicing and liaison.

Kelly has started to study for her Financial Services exams to progress her career and become a qualified Paraplanner in the future.

With her quiet diligence and determination, Kelly is a valued member of the team whose progress we will watch eagerly!
